Thyristor using discreet components. Closing main switch the lamp wil not illuminate.  Pulsing the trigger point momentary fires the Thyristor into conduction. Lamp will extinguish when supply is disconnected.

To understand how it works for beginners it would be nice to redraw the schematics. To many crossing lines and rotated components. This could be made much better. Keep on drawing
