Anti-parallel LEDs 555 H-bridge

I'm trying to design a custom driver for a light chain that is a string of anti-parallel LEDs, so it requires alternating polarity. Here is what I came up with after some tinkering. I'm wondering if there is an easier way to do it with the 555.
