Método para reemplazar un transistor npn por una composición de dos transistores, útil para reemplazar transistores de potencia. El transistor en la base es de baja potencia.

hmmm, right but i would turn it around. So its and emulated PNP with an real NPN. This VPNP (virtualPNP) is in common collector circuit here and is a voltage follower. Useful if you do not have performant PNPa this was in the 1960. still the case and it was replaced by an NPN like this http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4651140785111040
