Left on the screen is the Astable mode. Middle screen is the Monostable mode. Right side on the screen is the Bistable mode. ..................A stable Mode.................... This mode gives a continuous Pulses at a specific frequency. It's also called a Free Running or Self-Triggering mode. The output is a continuous rectangular wave oscillator. Two Quasi-stable states (HIGH and LOW). NO external Triggering required. Time HIGH and LOW set by resistors and capacitors. Hooking it up with the Time constant (T)formulars. T-period = R * C Time HIGH = 0.693 * (Rt1 + Rt2) * Ct Time LOW = 0.693 * Rt2 * Ct Components needed: 555-time IC 10uf capacitor 0.01uf capacitor(10nf) 220R resistor(load resitor) 1k resistor 100k resistor LED lamp 9V-DC battery. .....................Monostable Mode................ This mode gives a Singel Pulse for a specific or a giving time. It's also called a Single Shot Mode. One stable state, One Quazi-stable state. External Trigger changes from stable to Quazi-stable state. Switches back to stable after a predetermined period of time. Period can be set by an external resistor and capacitor. Hooking it up with the Time constant (T) formulars. T-period = R * C Time = 1.1 * Rt * Ct. Components needed: 555-time IC Momentary NO (normally open) Switch 10uf capacitor 0.01uf capacitor(10nf) 220R resistor(load resitor) 10k resistor 100k resistor LED lamp 9V-DC battery. .....................Bistable Mode................ This mode gives a on Signal when one of the momentary push-button (left-under) is pressed and released. A off signal when the other momentary push-button pressed and released. (left-top). It is a Two Triggering modes. It operates as a FLIP-FLOP. (with two switches you can automatically control a LOAD) The output is a continuous rectangular wave oscillator. Both states are stable. Stays in one state (HIGH OR LOW) until trigger is applied. External Triggering required. Time HIGH and LOW set by resistors and capacitors. Hooking it up with the Time constant (T) formulars. T-period = R * C Time = 1.1 * Rt * Ct. Components needed: 555-time IC 2x Momentary NO (normally open) Push-Botton Switch 0.01uf capacitor(10nf) 220R resistor(load resitor) 2x 10k resistor LED lamp 9V-DC battery. ...................................................................
