I'm working on a Power Amplifier, and a PA is only as good as the preamp. Since I like keeping my PA's voltage gain somewhat low, the preamp has to have a gain of around 12-13 in my case. I'm not sure how well op amps will behave, so I designed an ultra low distortion preamp myself. There are some key moments one should follow when building this though. Use only low noise transistors, high quality capacitors, and avoid electrolytic ones. For instance the input, output, and the 22uF capacitors should be WIMA for best results. Also buy a bunch of transistors and use the closest matched ones you can get. For best matching I've added emitter degeneration resistors almost everywhere where it is needed.
