Upgrade based on one of my previous circuits using the now available center tapped transformer, the original circuit was based on a circuit found at http://www.i4at.org/lib2/inverter.htm ,this along with some supplied helpful advice. The inverters real life output is specified as being capable of supporting a 120VAC @ 300W non inductive load dependant on the transistors and transformer being used. While EC can provide a limited simulation of transformers, it has problems, this shows up in loads that are used in inducing oscillations, in that they do not really know how to allow for different core permabilities, i.e. the difference between air cored, different types of Ferro material or even air gaped cores. I found that the extra 4.7uF capacitor helped me to simulate my desired configuration and helped in stopping the frequency running away, but is probably not required irl.

The dafault collector and emitter resistances are way to large. I usually set it to 10-50mohms. And beta doesn't have to be 20. You do get power transistors with good beta values and there are always Darlington pairs, ofcourse

I agree with what you are saying, IRL for 80 W fluros I just use 3055s and 5 Ohm, but EC is not that friendly when playing around with inverter power supplies.

This circuit is also called a DC-AC inverter
