HOW TO WALK THROUGH A DOOR PROTECTED BY THIS GENIOUS PROTECTION DEVICE WITHOUT SOUNDING THE ALARM:
1. Press the button.
DONE!!!
ALARM SYSTEMS HAVE NEVER BEEN EASIER TO USE!!!

There are many alarm circuits all over the internet, but I would not consider them practical. Most of them are simple SR - Flip Flops. The problem with those circuits is, that they sound the alarm instantly when you trigger it, which means, you need to deactivate it eigher remotely, or you need to install a switch outside of whatever you try to protect. My circuit though can be placed completely inside the box/behind the door you want to protect.

Please note when building this thing: 
It will operate stable at any voltage higher than 5V, although I would recommend at least 9V. The delay wont change with the voltage.
The switch is a reed switch (magnet switch) mounted to your door frame. Mount a magnet to the door itself so that the reed switch is closed when the door is closed too. 
The lamp is whatever gets activated with the alarm.
The button should be a fairly small but easily reachable button. 
The potentiometer will set the delay for the alarm to sound.

Easy and fast to use.

Terrible drivel song. Almost pathetic.... Circuit has its uses and could be very useful, as long as the song does not play when the alam goes off.

@kiani. How is this a religious song? The line 'Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away' is just a poetic way of saying 'Maybe tomorrow, you might die'. Which one do you think fits best?

It sounds like a song, sang by a group of singers...{chrous type of thing}....the words saying, "LORD may take your life away", implies life was given to us by a GOOD LORD... . Now if the Lord is Good, (good lord),, and he is responsible for lives being taken away,,,, and being the Land Lord of life,, we become the property of The Lord,,, whom created us in a bastard fashin and then banned bastardism,, by making havin healthy children impossible from brother and sisters,,, hypocrite Lord,,, No Lord owns my life, my life was no given to me by any Good Lord,,, a Lord that can not fight for himself or talk for himself and needs representatives, {priests?! ie. Charlatans} who make large buildings and live for free cause they speak on behalf of a hypocrite Lord who they only they represent....

@kiani. I think Steven Tyler and Aerosmith might find your synopsis amusing, particularly given such an innocuous lyric. Art and poetry would be ever so dull if It excluded imagery certain people disagreed with or if it dismissed those who earned success from their art. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, a lyric is just a lyric, and a great song is just a great song.

I never got the lamp to come on. Shop in California had alarms on door. Intruders axed bottom of doors and left top intact so alarm never came on. I notice comments from those who never read all the Bible. Are they wicked, immoral, not able to read? If you do bad works you do not progress well with God.

Thanks. I found the. switch and push button reset. Why not just use SCR to hold on until power off to reset?

Because it is more user friendly if you just need to push the button every time the door is opened. Of cause you can still add a on off switch to the whole thing.

i would spend a little base resistor to align the third transistor for the RS latch readout, otherwise it comes easy to fail alarms. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5844229776211968
