Slow start quick stop

I mocked this circuit up to make a circuit in real life for my daughters power wheel toy. I put in a big battery and a remote kill switch; it is awesome but the power wheel has a on off pedal so it is either full speed or no speed. When my daughter presses pedal it jerks her back hard due to the torque of the motor with the new battery. This circuit will allow for a smooth start and instantaneous stop; the best of both worlds.

how do you get current to the motor? if a motor is put in the circuit, it does not turn on due to lack of current and voltage. is there a solution?

Andyaraya44: in the bottom left of the circuit there is a switch (this represents the pedal of the power wheel). When it is switched on it slowly powers the lamp (watch its brightness change) that is in the bottom right of the circuit. Put the motor in the lamps place; i only used a lamp as a visual aid for the circuit.
