Why don't you just move the displays down by their corresponding decoders so the circuit won't be so hard to look at?

Well you called it a stop watch, I don't have any stop watches that count to f... so we are just assuming based of your name of the circuit you wanted it to count from 0-9, not 0-f. If you want it to be a hex counter, call it a three digit hex counter.
