Shake the simulator to inject noise and start the oscillations. Amateur radio 4 band oscillator for the 1.8, 3.6, 7, and 14 Mhz bands. Design carried out using the return ratio method. The oscillators are designed to operate just above the highest frequency of each band. The tuning capacitors bring the frequency down to tune over each set of band frequencies. I tried to implement a multiband oscillator using the common emitter configuration, but I found the tuning to be very problematic. The common collector configuration has produced much better results. I have heard that most radio engineers favour the common base or common collector configurations for multiband oscillators. The design principles are laid out in my other circuits. The method is very quick and easy.
