Used in making make private home phone in old days.
Left circuit is ignition points with longer arm being held open by weight on hook represented by ampmeter. Lift off headset ( or ampmeter) and circuit closes by point spring action.
Right circuit is ignition points held open with solenoid below to pull points closed.
