A simple amplitude modulation technique. Even without the op amp the multivibrator itself exhibits collector amplitude modulation. There is a downside though with this method, and it's is a large amount of parasitic frequency modulation as well, because the multivibrator is a VCO.

this can actually be more useful as an FM transmitter because in FM we do not care so much about the amplitude modulation, but not vice versa

Google tells me that “abonnement” is German (which I believe is @hurz’s native language) for “subscription”.

It's a subscription. The same word is in Bulgarian as well.

Anyway I don't know how much the deviation can be extended for this to be used as an FM transmitter. Also this is an RC multivibrator so the maximum frequency is kind of limited.

Actually i mean “abonnement“ this is french but identical used in german.

@thebugger I didn't say it would make a good FM modulator, just better than an AM modulator. I don't think also that it can get to any high frequencies ... I have actually built something similar before to use as FM transmitter, wouldn't really call it a success but it worked

A subscription to follow your comments. Not many users do useful comments/threads on EC and i would like to have the ability to filter. Anyway, everycircuit is what it is and it does not change the next years. We can already be happy to not loss everycircuit and there is a person who can press the reset button for a server reboot.
