That circuit will certainly do the trick, it's only problem is that it wastes over 30mA even when there is no motor current, by adding a transistor and increasing the resistor sizes you can reduce this to almost nothing. Trimming the base resistor will adjust the maximum output current. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5301739641372672
