Shipyard Method to Find Extension Cord Wire Break

A shipyard had large numbers of extension cords and bad wiring to repair. Instead of continuous spark generator from a Model A ignition, a 120 volt line power supply powers a High Tension Current 7,500 volt luminous sign transformer with a secondary rating of 60 milliamp (shown as AC generator in simulator). Wires from transformer secondary could go to regular two prong socket to simply plug bad extension line cord to connect. This high voltage will jump conductor break and heat broken wire gap as your hand feels top of insulation for warm area. In two or three minutes, the wire will burn through the insulation and automatically locate break area. Check wires separately in case common or ground is defective.
