Termites or powered post beetles infesting a hardwood floor can be easily exterminated.
Six infrared lamps in porcelain sockets with 8 inches between center of lamps and 5 inches from lamp center to each side of box housing. Aluminum foil lined wood box with wiring able to take high temperatures. Tack carpet on box lip to protect floor from scratches. Darkroom timer with bell to move box to next area. Do not go over 10 minutes so floor is not scorched.
Do not use on humid days.Varnished floors may blister. It is safe to use on shellacked or waxed floor.
Can be used to detect terminated infestation.
Wood box holds all lamps 8 inches above the floor.
5 minute exposure kills beetles 3/8 inch in flooring. 7 minutes kills in 1/2 inch flooring. Can not be used on thicker woods.
