By using a mosfet as shown in the circuit you can greatly increase the power it can handle, for example you could use a motor instead of an led. If you make this let me know how it works and please leave any suggestions you have. Thank you.

Add a switch in series with the supply a look what happens when you press it.

Ok I tried it this is just a bug of the app I know this because while the switch in series with the power supply was still off I pressed the off button (in real life this makes absolutely no difference) then when I turned on the switch the led remained off like it should and in real life would.
