Hello, how did you set the circuit to only reach 3.35V to switch led to red?

I am prob not the best person to ask - i am only learning. But the "threshold" on pin 6 will react at 2/3's of supply voltage and reset back to a low output. That make sense?

There are some alterations needed in this circuit before you try it on a breadboard and burn out some components.....Notice the current reading through the LEDs....keep that under 20mA by increasing the resistor next to it. Notice also that when each button is pressed, the full battery current is passed to the base of each transistor...keep the base currents in the microAmp range if poss, or no more than a few mA, but enough to saturate the transistor into switch mode. Put a 1k resistor into each base for now while you re think the circuit a little.....it is a good start though to design an on-off switching circuit. The red LED comes back on on its own due to the cap on the left discharging....altering its value will alter that timing.

Hi 2ctiby. Thanks. I made the resistors low just to get bright leds in the simulation...sorry. I'll keep the transistors in mind. I did this circuit just get a 555 to behave for me as I needed it in the "stepping circuit" I'm building for my house project. Thanks for your comments. :-)

The comments helped me understand 555 well. I now think of creating a project using 555 correctly
