A public domain circuit, that may soon be patented in the USA™

An amazing new newer than new, AC to DC converter using ..... A diode!

This 'new simple circuit'  markets the idea of converting alternating current™ to direct current using a Diode®

Note the voltage source is set at 310 volts which approximately equates to 220 volts RMS. Thus, once converted to direct current, in the crudest manner possible, we do end up with a voltage that is then smoothed out by the big capacitor. This capacitor should be rated at least one and a half times the DC voltage  to avoid a massive explosion!

This circuit could easily kill you so under no circumstances should you try to 'breadboard' it!
