Your voltmeter reads zero. Probably from the shorting wire by the resistor. And the led stays off.

The voltmeter is shortened, but the LED will turn on eventually. Just let it simulate some time.

But the voltemeter isn't shorted, it's testing in parallel. I thought only AMPs were measured in series?

I edited it so the voltmeter is in series.

Then edited so the voltmeter straddled the led. Tweaked the cap and the resistor.
