Control for solar array

This circuit will allow you to dump excess power to an alternate load when your batteries reach max charge. Replace the light bulb with a spdt relay that is rated for the full output of your array. Most commercial charge controllers dissipate the excess current through heat. This circuit will allow you to divert it to an other load , water heater, fans, second bank........ The voltage source is replaced with your battery bank. Btw, thanks to Voltransistor for posting the low-high circuit. It was used to provide the signal for the comparator.

U mean this bulb is for simulate this load to whose power is redirected ( so indcated by red led) if i catch it right??? I had little knowledge if any about solar panels but heard those have quite advanced electronics. If most commercial charge controllers ( correct me if i wrongly name it) dump any excessive charge by simple heat we should say that those are poor and designed by some greeen in art. And your way of thinking it's very good and great circuit maybe make some few ppl rethink their buy order and ask for one with energy saving. Those marketing specialists always sent to market products done by way of least resistant changing it when ppl start to ask aout this or that. Thinks to such demnstrations more ppl catch what is going on and thanks to this changes in design will be initiatet. Anyway great circ. I wish only such i will found along community circ. Or some authors creations overall having something to offer. Anything it coud be even fancy artistic thingy if it is your idea it's great and will be worthy to be noticed. But for those who post a 1001 copy of googled multivibrator or TTL Nand gate i can only say "...sorry dookie no bonus. Take hat and go to forrest find some mushrooms lol" exeption is only for kids. U know kids are kids and behave like kids so they are ok :-)

There is so many circuit whose i miss cuz no time to watch all of them. Some categorization will be great and some admin whose constantly remove trashes to bin and watch that only some workable circuit will b posted. "Do what u want'' sysyem indicate that author have deep inside commmunit needs loking only for cash from sale. Do u receive e-mail noticing a port of ec on some fancy platform yesterday??? Damn this guy we have bunch of bugs ere whose need repair and this "patient" concentrate to port it to so many platforms only for cash.

The bulb is there to simulate the load of a relay. The relay would be a double pole double throw. The solar array would connect to the center, the battery bank would connect to the normally closed, your other load would connect to the normally open.

Yeaha lack of relays is drawback here. They are and they will be used all the time due to easy understandable operation impossible to overlodad by some transients, can be checked visually with ease and will never start behave such way that u do not know whats going on. I Think a current controlled current source shoud be good basic device to modell a relay behavior. Cjrrent source for easy block the current cuz have infinite resistnce hmmm u give me idea to build something usefull :-) ok i'am throw myself outta from here and start work

It would be nice to see some common ICs here too, ie 555, 556, tl082, lm 741.

The high and low voltage setting of the OP amp in here is misleading, unless you build a transistor amp with a dual ended power source you can only see the current that is coming out of the amp not what is required to produce it. It might be nice to be able so scope the OP amps and other components in here like we can for resistors and such

I create a model of relay with one NC contact now but the hell is big maybe when cut a parts responsible for realism will be little smaller. Doh it will not fit here none chance .... lack of workplace :/
