LED flasher should blink and do it in reality.... but not in every circuit why?

If your saying you've tested it, and really works in real life, but not o EC, then it's most likely because you have the transistor configured in the reverse-active region, which every circuit may not be able to simulate. Most of the time, this state of the transistor is avoided, because it's not as stable and predictable I believe.

...But also because you left the base of the transistor "floating", this is definitely not how you should use a transistor, unless your trying to build something that responds to radio frequencies, or like the natural 60Htz hum of the power lines (60Htz for USA) for example. If you have enough gain, you may see the LED illumonate (its actually flickering) with the base floating, if that's what you intend to do, but that's basically the only reason you could see your LED flashing in this particular circuit. Though, I highly doubt this circuit would do that, since you have the collector and emitter backwards, and your only using one transistor, and etc.

In the very worst case, this circuit may be sold to the Tate modern in London as a piece of art! Happy Easter

No, @zorgrian, in real with the correct transistor its a nice oscillator.
