Why? Can't you achieve the same thing with a single component (i.e. the switch in the bottom left corner)?

hey ,this is an electronic switch Not an analog/mechanical switch.

MOSFET is a voltage controlled switch.

You don't actually need the resistor between the collector and the gate removing it actually improves the performance of the switch off state
