Here is a real simple one, Guys. My son was asking how we could keep the light on using a push button since it is momentary. I have seen the latch over and over again in ladder logic and relay logic, but I had to figure out how to make it work here. Anyway, the N.O. push button is the start button, which turns on the relay and latches the circuit on. Pressing the N.C. push button opens the circuit and releases the latch.

The circuit will do the trick, however if you have a power circuit that the load current exceeds the capability of the switches, it is common to use a relay or contactor to supply the power that way the switches only have to supply power to the relay coil. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5857673152299008

Try this for a transistor latch circuit. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5213184050069504
