This simple circuit uses no micro processing unit to determine the maximum power point of a non-ideal voltage source e.g. a solar panel (in this case): The voltage source (and resistor) simulate a 400Wp Solar Panel. The upper zener diode must be precisely selected at the maximum power point voltage of the solar panel (also known as Vₘₚₚ). The lower zener diode must be selected at the maximum Gate-Source-Voltage of the N-Channel MOSFET (also known as VGS). The both resistors are used as pull-up and pull-down resistors for the N-Channel MOSFET. 📈 The light bulb acts as a load. Tweak its power and have a look at the blue voltage curve of the solar panel. Since the N-Channel MOSFET does turn off as soon as the input voltage falls below the zener voltage the solar panel will never get stuck in the dead lock point. Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments. 🙆🏽‍♀️
