The two buttons start (top) and stop (bottom) the motor, the potentiometer adjusts motor speed.
The motor is based off a 12v, 1/4 Hp motor I found online.
The astable 555 setup is loosely based off everyone else's on here, thanks everybody.
Thanks 2ctiby for the tips, they helped a great deal.
Nothing else is based on anything.
Modified slightly to get better performance and added a switch on top to keep the 555 from working all the time.
