Computer 4 bit

A 4 bit CPU! It has two registers, A and B. It has 4 instructions, signified by the 2 inputs on the bottom left. They are: 00 - Load data (4 bits right of opcode) into A 01 - Copy B into A 10 - Store A AND B into A 11 - Copy A into B It hasn't been tested well, so if you find bugs tell me! The seven segment display shows A. Also, hold down the clock (top left) for a while, until it updates.

I "may" be interested? Bookmarked instantly! hehe

Seems all right on first try. I'd prefer the data input to be in some sort of line, preferably horizontal with the MSB on the left. :) Same for the instruction input really, but that's only 2 bits.

It's nicer at 3ms/s speed, but not that much nicer. Anyway, testing at this speed.

It's not easy to test, but if I did it right, it gave correct results for all of (1 2 4 8) AND F, and for 1 AND 0.

Any new developments on your serial computer?

No, but it did cross my mind to try making the cpu as a separate circuit, then maybe build around that. Also, I'd try it with just a few instructions, like you have here.

this is a pretty decent computer. although i would have moved the "dip switch" to its own place and align them correctly from LSD to MSD but its nice. good work
