Yeah, that's how Qi charging works. Problem is most energy dissipates in stray fields, due to the low inductive coupling.

For !example!, this is "how Qi charging" works. I have a torch lamp, and it does the same for comfort. Its working fine and I don't care if it waste 50% energy. Total power dissipation is below 1Watt while charging.

Yes, these are low power circuits. Tesla never saw his dream accomplished for high powered wireless transmission.
