Oscillator

The LC network phase shifts the output by 180 degrees as can be seen by the difference between the green and blue lines on the oscilloscope. The transistor then amplifies the signal and phase shifts it another 180 degrees for a full 360 degree phase shift making an oscillator.

This is one type of "harmonic oscillator" and its principle is called "pierce oscillator" and mostly used as crystal oscillator. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierce_oscillator

On google images, none of the oscillators under pierce oscillator matched my oscillator and they all featured a crystal rather than an inductor. Are they functionally the same or similar?

They are functional identical, while the ones with crystal do have a Q around 20000 or above. Yours with inductor might have a Q of about 100.

So, the crystal is like an ultra low resistance low value inductor?

Sorry, I don’t speak Russian or whatever that might be. Wait a minute… I see three lowercase “a”s, two lower case “e”s, a lower case “p”, “o”, “c”, “x”, a small uppercase “H” and “M”, a backwards small uppercase “R”, and two unknown letters, one of which looks like a weird curvy six, and the other like a lowercase “q” with an open top, making it look a little like a funny shaped “y”.
