Sorry, but this is the opposite of a buffer. The signal source is supplying more current (and voltage) than is sent to the output. Watch the current dots to see what's happening. The transistors may be entirely disconnected; they're doing nothing.

I think I see what you're trying to do. I'll post an example tomorrow if you don't find the fix first. :)
