A lamp-and-switch system for 4 people in separate rooms. The control room has a private link to each of the 3 other rooms. Each link uses two two-way (SPDT) switches, which work like an XNOR gate, so either person can flash the lamps, and both rooms see every flash. Messages are sent as counted flashes.
