We want to weld water jacket on inside of engine block through 1 inch hole and watch welding through another hole and not have bare welding strike arc to sides of narrow opening,

Welding power cable is at top. Power cable at end is attached to 1/8 inch steel tubing about 20 inches long. Outer steel tubing covered with rubber hose to insulate and cover hose with tape. Insert arc welding rod with a short piece of welding rod out of the bottom of steel tube and insert wedge to hold welding rod against side of metal tube to make contact.
