Put a 10k resistor between the capacitor and the transistor base and decrease the resistor between the 555 output and the capacitor to 5k now increase the capacitance to make it slower.

Also put a capacitor at the ctrl pin to ground (as far as I know it doesn't make a difference how much capacity it has.
