Change right hand resistor to approx. 330 Ohm (you have it at 471kOhm). Change simulation speed to 100mS to show flashing more clearly :-)

Also, reduce base resistors to 100kOhm. To get even brightness you may want to change left hand resistor to 330 Ohms too.

You don't need to worry about condenser (capacitor) polarity.

After you have implemented the above suggestions, try decreasing the base resistors to 33k, it will increase the led brightness, and stabilize the output a little.

Guys, thanks a lot. The story goes....that an arduino for my kids was left untouched for a few years. So, here i'm, at 52, knowing absolutely nothing about electronics, my head deep inside textbookx, C++, micro and digital electronics,, arduino and my living room turned out to became a total mess. Mamma mia!!!!!
