Thought this circuit might have Been a bit challenging(which the Binary to Octal proved to be just that). I hope you enjoy, this is by far the most difficult(complex) circuit I've come to make on here. Also sorry for the long description info, and the messy wiring. Operation: The switches on the left side control the single digit Octal Input. Starting from the top to the bottom(7 to 1) an input of 0 is given when all switches are turned to their preset position. Activate one input switch at a time! If more than one is activated you may receive unexpected results! The resulting initial output is is in a binary format. Being represented as the 3 Blue LEDs somewhat centered on the circuit. To activate the Binary to Octal feature activate the 3 switches in the center connected to the Binary LEDs. The resulting output will indicate the Octal being activated from the input of the entire circuit. It follows the same pattern as the input(7 top-right to 0 bottom-right) Current Problems: 1. I cannot seem to find a way to remove the switches in the center and have the LEDs activate to show Binary and Octal outputs. Would appreciate any help here as the 3 center switches were not intended on my initial design. Credit: @Aurelio - For the Binary to Octal circuit. Although I had to play with it a bit to work for this specific circuit. Octal number system explanation: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octal Again as always, questions, comments, and criticism is welcome!
