Nice. I'm curious about the 1ohm resistor. What is it's purpose?

It just changes the amplitude of the oscillation. With lower frequencies it had a tendency to saturate the LC side and the addition of resistance to ground seemed to help.

Swell. Did you build this circuit? I tried it out on a breadboard, but the oscillations fizzled out. I'm not sure why.
