For a Pendulum

Just started electronics and got this circuit for a pendulum. There should be a permanent magnet moving past the coil. Any suggestions welcome

How about moving coil close to AC powerline to sense magnetic field to see how things work?

I did add capacitor between coil add ground to inject 6 volt 60 cycle sine wave above coil and 160 mA square wave showed for most of the circuit. I removed diode as well but wave never smoothed out.
