Well since he was talking about batteries, you could technically replace the voltage source and the resistor with a battery symbol. EC doesn't offer one so you just have to imagine that. That would leave you with no resistor in a rl application. Would be a uncommon battery to be fair.

Actually every real life voltage source does have an internal resistance so it's not that far fetched.

Maybe two 3V button cells in series but idk about the 6A short circuit current tho.
