PSU Element 2 - Linear Switched Voltage Network

Use: Adjust pot in the center. Description: Think of the pot like it is just the reference voltage of an adjustable linear power supply. As the output adjustment is increasing a series of comparators are used to switch relays. These relays are used to control the connections of a transformer's secondary output. The transformer has multiple taps on the secondary winding for several output voltages. When the linear power supply is adjusted past each comparator threshold the next stage of the unregulated supply is switched on or off. This limits the total power dissipation of the linear regulator circuit at any power output setting.
