Playing with AC to DC based on a treadmill. I learned how to solder with flux (having previously been soldering without flux) by replacing a busted transformer on the treadmill.
Protip: flux is a game changer when soldering.
Edited to add a mosfet and before&after voltmeters to show the drop from about 11VDC to 2VDC.
Edited again to slow time, and the circuit is actually stable enough to display things as if it were DC while the AC source is near 0V.
