Hardware implementation by Ibrahim A Khorwat and Nabil Naas. Manchester encoding is used for ethernet transmission. Upper left circuit is the data signal and Manchester encoder. Green trace shows the input after clock synchronisation. Blue trace is the transmitted Manchester encoded data. Manchester encoding is a method of transmitting a logic signal combined with it's clock. The centre circuit is a delay line that recovers clock pulses from the transmission line. Red trace shows the recovered clock signal for decoding. Lower circuit is the Manchester decoder. It uses a an RC filter to smooth the logic transitions; bit transitions are determined by limit comparators. Orange trace shows the decoded output.
