Good point, although they were manufactured as ether N-channel MOSFET or PNP bipolar transistors, interchangeably isn’t an opinion.

To clarify something, transistors are used in high voltage low current while mosfets are used in low voltage high current applications. IGBTs are used in high voltage high current applications. The downside is the cost and high gate capacitance.
