I'd like to add controls to this:

Gain
Output Volume
Mix Clean/Distorted
Maybe a series of switches to activate routing through additional OP amps

9V supply and its two 1k voltage divider just floating and have no impact to the circuit. The 100uF cap has also no impact, its just a complicated load. What left over. The OpAmp is operating as comparator and forms a rectangular from sinewave +-15V which will by differentiell formed by 10uF cap and the diodes voltage limited. Because of ultra high current (10uF against 2 Ohm diodes cause high current in ampere range). Not much can work irl, overloaded opamp/comparator, high current spikes up and down kills diodes or OpAmp
