This project presents a motor stop circuit designed with basic logic gates. The system monitors two input signals (processed with pull-down resistors and capacitors for noise filtering) and evaluates them through a combination of logic comparators and an AND gate. When both conditions are satisfied: The AND gate output triggers a transistor, which activates an LED as a visual indicator. Simultaneously, a relay is energized, cutting the motor's power supply and safely stopping the motor. The circuit is powered by independent 5V and 9V sources. It uses: 10 kΩ pull-down resistors 330 Ω current-limiting resistor for the LED A relay coil rated for the control voltage A diode for back-EMF protection across the relay coil. This setup is ideal for applications requiring reliable motor shutdown in response to specific logic conditions, ensuring safety and operational control.

That is a nice latching circuit, is the 1K resistor in parallel with the coil supposed to be the back EMF diode?
