How the voltage becomes larger than the output pin of 555 timer?

When the transistor is open current flow throw the inductor that builds up its magnetic field. Then the transistor close and since current in an inductor can't instantly change the only way it can go is throw the diode inside the output capacitor. So current is pumped inside the capacitor stepping up the voltage.
