that's the idea! build it and see. don't hurt anyone though. 400mH coil will have a fair amount of DC resistance in it which is going to damp the output voltage significantly. drive the relay with a transistor instead of directly and don't forget to flywheel it. 555s don't last too long with HV spikes coming back from the ground rail either, I made a couple die trying similar things.
