can see a similar effect on my cro watching the voltage on the gate when it goes low. parasitic capacitance and lead inductance makes stuff oscillate everywhere. the gate voltage does not sit at zero.
fix in this case was to put 4.7nF bypass cap on the gate to ground and that holds the gate voltage flat at 0 at the cost of some rise/fall.
