Nice circuit, let's get rid of the relay, http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6245584972546048

You could lose the transistor too. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5281998590705664

Yes ....

It's looking nice now with the Karma247 developments in place. However... see how that Pmos here on EC is showing a dip between Saturation and Ohmic state (little gate bar moving between half and full). Does anyone fancy a little play at altering the Pmos so that it shows better switching mode rather than amplifier mode (like the Nmos does at the moment) .... No need to be too specific about Rds unless you want to.... leaving this pmos unaltered depicts a restricted current for the lamps there with a waste power loss by the Pmos. Tip... the 12v lamps are set at 5W, so aim to get roughly 400mA at the lamps there, then if you manage that...continue to adjust the Nmos so that its nmos lamps current is about the same as that of the Pmos lamps current.

Or use the discharge pin as open collector driver which gives you rail to rail gate voltage http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5420127960170496

Yes, that's fine ... here is one more of many alterations to get the suggested approx 400mA lamps http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6297093659688960

Yea, that's fine ... and the pmos might have even with Vto 1.5V the same problem. Thats why you can "fine" use the rail to rail possiblity of the discharge pin7 of 555. http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5006742726639616

Just altering the discharge pin may not always work on its own ... it will depend on the K value of the individual mosfet as well as its VTO ... Understanding those parameters is the key to deciding on necessary external adjustments rather than just altering say the discharge pin in hope. ...here is your schematic with different Pmosfet K (with a default W/L ratio) where altering your discharge pin resistor will not work, even at 2v or 1.5v etc VTO http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5922232185651200

The main point is that the EC Mosfet settings usually need adjustment for presentation description according to whether they are being used for a switching or amplifier condition.

And you are on a long way to understand all these settings. Go ahead and one day you will understand. And stop mess up my circuits before you finished this learn curve at your own circuits. Thanx.
