Nope there are two switches and other than breaking wiring, there are only two points that the lighting function can be controlled.

There are countries in which they call such a switch "3-way" switch LOL. But there is no logical explanation for this.

The other thing us talking about the use of this circuit and BillyT is right its made for e.g. a room with TWO ways out. Or call it stairway, one switch down and one at top.

After a few years doing controls, I have worked with the items you are talking about, the electrical, hydraulic, or pnuedraulic control (pilot) for a electrical, hydraulic, or pnuedraulic valve . They are basically a on-off-on device, I have worked with at least 5 different variations of them, and none of them can be in more than 1 state at a time. In other words, when one is in the on state, the other on output is either off or in the power return state, the off positions is normally that, Off.
