Make a band pass filter to isolate the frequency you want to control your lights, then amplify that signal

Do you know how to do that on here? I'm new at this, trying to teach myself. Have a hearse with awesome audio system. Some lights would be sweet.

The half-ass way I've seen people do it is to just hook a resistor and LED directly to the speaker wires. It works, but it's shady. A quick Google search turned up all kinds of different ways to do it. Some better than others.

Look for a "color organ" schematic online. It's not the simplest circuit to throw together but it's a cool effect. Lots of schematic websites out there- check it out..
