Not really a rectifier as an op amp had a separate dc power supply. So all you are doing here is using the ac signal as a reference as to when the signal is high or low. If you take off the diode you will see it cycles between -15 and 15 volts. The gain on the op amp is also set to 100 kv/v. So if you adjust the output of the op amp, with just the one volt in from the ac you could get 100 kv out. Clearly this has to come from a different power supply as the op amp doesn't have a transformer inside it.
